This 26-page activity book was illustrated and edited by Dripping Springs Girl Scout Troop 848 in 2004. The book tells the story of Pound Family pioneer life in rich detail. Includes a word search, crossword puzzles and even some old- fashioned riddles and tongue twisters. Recommended grades 3-6.

Old School Math Challenges

Adapted from a historical math text in our collection. Sarah Pound schooled her 7 children at home using problems like these. Includes basic addition and subtraction problems but the challenge lies in the old-fashioned terminology and way in which things were worded. Try it for fun as a brain-teaser. Recommended grades 4-5.
